Possible Brooks...what to do now? Little worried.

Two months ago I lost an engineer goby to a bacterial infection. I noticed he wasn't working for a day or two (which was weird) and wasn't eating great. He slimmed up in a day so I QTed and went to the LFS to get help and they gave me Erythromycin. I treated and thought he was getting better. But then he died in 48 hours. Seemed to be the end of it and all has been normal for 2 months outside of some fading to my yellow tangs face. Three days ago I fed the tank mysis in the morning as usual and that night my File Fish was dead (no sign of sickness prior). And my yellow tang was sucked up to the circulation fan. I thought he was dead too. I bumped him off and he started swimming, really weak. He died the next evening. So my question is I have a clown fish and Hawk fish left, both seem normal with no sign of sickness. Do I do anything for them as precaution? I am really not sure if the Goby and these last two cases are related. I do have the clean up crew, a cleaner and an urchin also. I don't want to cause more harm if I don't need to.

Do you know what your water parameters are? I'd put the two fish into quarantine as a precaution and observe for illness. If it was brook, or velvet, youll want to let the display tank sit fallow for 78 days to ensure that all traces of the illness die off if it was in fact that. Move your two remaining to quarantine and snap some pictures and we can take a look and help you out

+1 if you can QT... I went thru the same ordeal a few weeks ago. Lost 4 fish. 3 in 24hrs and the other one after 1 week.

I caught the remaining and I have one more to go, the dang wrasse. I have them on observation and will start Copper in my QT very soon.

Thanks that helps. Should I do a few fresh water dips just to be on the safe side?

Freshwater dips can be helpful with both Brooklynella and velvet, so not a bad idea.

The "fallow period" for brook and velvet is six weeks, 76 days will cover ich as well.
