After finishing up my quarantine and fallow period I’m thinking of staying establishing a clown harem tank. As of today the survivors of my tank are:
1) Gladiator Clown (2.5”)
2) Firefish
3) Flame Angel
4) Bluesided Wrasse
5) Pistol Goby

I was thinking of adding 3-4 juvenile clowns and an anemone once the tank is back up & running. My tank is a 48” long with a Trigger 36 sump. Right now it’s FOWLR but I may add something simple like GSP or pulsing Xenia later on. I would look to add all of the clowns together with the current Gladiator being the largest of the group.

Does anyone have any experience with this livestock mix? Any suggestions or warnings?

3-4 clowns is not a harem and honestly ends up in only 2 left in the long term 99% of the time. You don't honestly get into "harem" territory until you have enough clowns to spread out any aggression that will occur from the dominant female/male pair.

Thanks for the insight... How many would you suggest for a 90g FOWLR? Right now I have a Gladiator Clown, firefish, pistol goby, scissor tail and blue sided wrasse.

Thanks in advance for your help & insight!

having an established clown, means you're not going to be able to get away with a harem. Another one of the VERY MANY things required to have a successful harem long term is that they come from the same clutch. I've not seen any evidence yet of anything otherwise.
