Possible coral identification?

Hi I just set up a new tank and noticed this little purple guy on one of my live rocks anyone know what it is?

Hard for me to tell, is it flexible to the touch? possible sponge or leather?

Was this live rock or dry rock when you put it in the tank?

This is live rock. It's kinda squishy and soft to the touch

As already mentioned maybe a sponge or leather coral or some kind of mushroom coral.
Keep a close eye on it.
