I purchased a Watchman Goby the other day and a few hours after putting him in the tank he jumped out. I came home to find him on the floor. He was still wet so I submerged his head in the tank and he swam a away so it must have just happened. The next morning he was still in the tank and alive. However, now I can't find him anywhere, including the floor around the tank. I'm worried he may have crawled under a rock and died. I have two clowns and a cleaner shrimp in the tank as well. I'm worried of an amoninia spike if in fact he is dead. Should I take all the rocks out and to try to find him? It's been about 24 hours since I last saw him

I would not move rock around to look for the fish at all. YWG can disappear for awhile. In a fully cycled tank one fish death is not going to crash the tank. Just test ammonia if the corals look mad and do a water change if indicated.

Sometimes I don't see mine for awhile; assume you've searched for him when tank is fed and he's most likely to come out into the open. If taking out your rock work would be an ordeal I think I might wait another day while testing ammonia, etc. as a precaution. Then again maybe you can just lift up the rockwork where he commonly stayed and check for him. Good luck.

I wouldn't stress him out further by moving rocks around or trying to flush him out. If he's alive he will come out when he's ready. If you're concerned about ammonia you can always test or buy a badge.
