Well, some not so good and maybe bad news.
Big momma clown is acting like she is gonna pass. Can’t sit in nem, as it appears to sting her, no eggs this morning like there should have been and the male is ignoring her. She looked a little sluggish the past few days and wasn’t as interested in the new mertens as she typically is with new nems, so knew something was off. No signs of disease, breathing relatively slow, so the signs of old age are there. Just sucks she can’t even lay in a nem at this point.
Had her for just over 30 years. I estimate she is 31 or so. This fish has been with me longer than my wife lol. Been through at least 50 tank moves, lived in my dads sump for almost 2 years when I was at basic and then other stuff. Then in tanks that were halfway neglected while deployed.
just sucks. But at least it had a good life, at least I hope so.
She is currently sitting in the ricordia garden and the shrooms are actually not closing up for once. Kinda nice of them.
Debating on clove oil to euthanize or just let her pass and the reef take her back. Tough decision for sure.
