I haven't ever had any fish to ever produce offspring but was wondering if my fancy snowflake and Darwin clownfish can spawn and produce babies and wondering what they possibly would look like?

Hey! It will probably happen for you if you feed them enough. They are both ocellaris so your babies will be pure ocellaris. There is no definite answer to what the babies will look like because of a bunch of reasons. For one, every single one of the babies will be slightly different with differing coloration and patterning. Two, its largely based on the coloration and patterning of the parents so if you show them off I could give you a better idea. Fancy Snowflakes generally have a bit thicker black outlines compared to normal Snowflakes so that will mean the babies have a better chance of having darker black outlines. When you take a Snowflake and cross it with a Darwin you usually get a fish that has darker black outlines and more of a chocolate coloration to the body. Again, every set of parents produces different babies. One breeder I buy from had a similar pair that produces babies that were very uniformly brown, like chocolate. Another breeder I work with produces babies from a similar Snowflake x Darwin cross that are more orange bodied and black outlined. Snowflake x Darwin first generation babies are called Black Ice. Your cross will probably produce similar fish. Fancy Snowflakes are my favorite breed ever and I have quite a few different variations from the same SA parents. I have one pair that is very very dark black and if one of them was crossed to a Darwin it could product Black Snowflake babies. Lets see some photos of your pair!

These are about the best pictures I got right now and they are from my iPhone so just bare with me.

Is it possible for them to produce phantom clownfish? What fish do you have breed to get like Wyoming whites and Picassos ?

I have a pair of picassos that are about 5 years old. The female is starting get quite a bit larger than the male. How often would you recommend feeding them and what would you feed them to get the "in the mood?" :D

Nice pair! Your Fancy Snow has a pretty sweet pattern and your Darwin has a nice black face. I think the coloration of the Fancy Snow is about average with the breed. She has a nice smokey orange body with thick black outlines and a bit of black extending into the face. You'll probably have a lot of babies with that caramel smokey body color but hopefully you'll find a few that are darker black if you get to eggs and raise them.

I don't think its possible for them to produce Phantom (Black Snowflake) clownfish. Black Snowflake clownfish have been bred for multiple generations to get the dark black of the Darwin and the extra irregular white of the Snowflake. If you start from a Snowflake and breed it with a Darwin it might take you 4 generations to produce a super dark Black Snowflake. Your Fancy Snowflake is a bit darker than the usual Snowflake so maybe 2-3 generations if you select the right individuals to use for further breeding.

To get Wyoming Whites you will need some ocellaris parents that are Wyoming White or Fancy White (also coined DaVinci by SR). Two WW or two FW or one FW and one WW. A FW is just a cross between a Fancy ocellaris and a Wyoming White. You could also get them by crossing one of the above listed to another breed of ocellaris but its much more unlikely. Basically all of this comes down to having the original C-Quest Wyoming White genes in your parents which are present in all of the above.

You can get Picassos by crossing Picassos or Platinums. These days there are a lot of normal striped fish that come out of clutches of Picassos so you could even get lucky with two normal striped perculas ;)

5 years old! They should be laying already! I would recommend feeding them as much as possible. In my opinion you really can't overdo it. If your overdoing it they will just not eat lol. I suggest 4-5 saturation feedings per day. Take your time and try and get the food into their mouth by target feeding them and not just broadcast feeding to reduce pollution to your tank. As far as foods... try and feed a nice mix of different foods and don't overdue it with any one thing unless its a nice complete food. I would suggest some good pellets and a nice seafood blend. I make my own seafood blend so I can get what they like in there. Try some red snapper and shrimp. Add some spirulina and astaxanthin too. I would use a gelatin binder for the seafood blend to increase the amount and types of proteins and to bind everything together. Now you've gotta show off some pics of them :D
