Not usually necessary unless maybe you're keeping it in extreme cold temps.

Not unless you keep it where it can freeze. The small amount of water added from an ato won't affect the tank temp enough to be a concern.

Not unless you have an enormous amount of evaporation, in which case you should just get a better lid. It shouldn't be putting enough new water in to change anything, and even if it did, fish and corals don't mind a slow fluctuation of a degree or so.

I heat mine when I want a cup of tea, but otherwise I figure it’s just like a rainstorm in the tropics with the ocean being warm and the falling rain a slight bit chilly when it hits the ocean.

You got good answers to your questions so I figured you might need a possibility dumb answer.

No. ATOs generally add very small amounts of water at a time, generally as water evaporates.
