Possible flukes. Can i ride this out?

So apparently one of my wrasses decided to get some flukes on her. She eats and swims fine but once in a while will flash a few times on the rocks and then swim and be fine again. No other fish have seemed bothered by this at all. Im wondering if i could just ride it out with her in the tank? There is no way of pulling her out of the tank with the rocks unless i want to break apart everything. I've seen it done with ich in a reef tank of fully stocked fish. Thoughts?


*Side note. I do have 2 cleaner shrimp inside the tank.*

You can always dose Prazipro in the tank and rid everybody of flukes at the same time. No tearing up the reef, or long QT with this one. There is a small risk to any feather dusters or other types of worms in the tank, but I never experienced any trouble with it when I did it.

Really? I thought prazi would hurt the corals. So all my corals and inverts will be fine other then any tube worm types?

Theoretically yes. I experienced some fading in color on my SPS, but they bounced back pretty quickly. Other than that I didn't have any problems at all. There is always that 1 person in 100 that has a problem, so there's a chance, but that's why we say "with caution"

All i have currently is a orange cap monti, another green branch/plating coral i forget the name of and 3 acans in the tank along with my inverts. So i should be alright?

I have used prazi in my display and nothing was effected except flukes. How ever, you said your wrasse got flukes on her. How do you know? Did you freshwater dip in a dark container ?

I had a previous wrasse that i pulled out today that i freshwater dipped and it had flukes. Unfortunatly the dip was too much for it. My wrasse right now is not as near the shape that one was in. I will try the prazi treatment inside the display then. Thank you guys very much!

Good question above, though if they have never been treated for flukes, it's a good bet that somebody has it. Wrasses are notorious for having flukes/worms of some kind or another. prazi is a mild medication and isn't bad to treat with prophylactically. I think you'll be find with your corals using prazi, but I wont guarantee anything since that's how you jinx yourself.

Make sure you follow the directions too the T. If your not sure under dose. What I did was treat 48 hours later I did water normal water change and ran carbon. 7 days from 1st dose. I dosed again. 48 hours I did 25% water change and ran new carbon and change carbon a week later again

Oh and take skimmer cup off close skimmer so it over flows. And leave it running. So it keeps your oxygen up

I have a super oversized skimmer so that will help and tons of flow in the tank. I dont think ill be too worried about oxygen in the tank. But will do!
