Possible fungal breakout

I am suspicious of a fungal infection on one of my fishes but am not positive, if I treat my display tank with seachems kanaplex and I am wrong about the fungus can it harm my fish?

Kanaplex is not reef safe. It's best used in QT.

Even if you have a FOWLR there is no way to accurately dose and monitor with absorbtion and biofilm.

I don’t have a reef tank I also don’t have a hospital tank

Dose carefully and do verify the condition (not possible symptom prior to medicating anything)
With no hospital tank, treat according to USEABLE GALLONS !! if you have a 50 gallon tank and it has a bunch of rock, assume you have about 38 gallons of water -NOT 50 and treat for 38 gallons of water VOLUME

oh no, not saying not to dose. Assure it is fungus and not bacterial or velvet etc so you assure your are treating for right symptom.
Would you be able to take a pic of affected area?
