Hi added my angel to a brand new cycled tank after about 3 weeks on full dose of cuppermine and 2 weeks on prazi and I see 2 small dots under his chin. I was wondering if this is ich.
Thanks

Can you describe the process you used with copper in more detail?

Did you treat the fish in the same tank and then lower the copper level?

I treated with [email protected] ppm used hanna checker for about 3 week. Did a 2 30% water change and then did 2 doses of prazipro. Then transferred to DT.

I'm not 100% its ich. Its cemetrical it has 2 dots on bottom of his chin in the exact same spot on both sides

The normal recommendation is to go 30 days with copper at therapeutic levels to get rid of ich or 14 days of copper followed by a transfer to a sterile (ich free tank). I would watch the fish carefully over the next few days for any signs and be prepared to treat again if you see more signs. You’ll also want to leave your display tank fish less for 76 days to ensure all ich has died out in it. If you want to be 100% sure your tank is ich free than doing the above is what I’d suggest.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Have you read the threads on ich and ich treatment in the disease forum? If not I’d suggest doing so now.

Since you didn't run copper for a full 30 days it's a possiblity that ich is present.

His color looks to be a bit faded as well which can be indicative of parasite affliction.

I'd see if any more spots pop up here in the next few days to a week.

3 weeks isn’t long enough typically if left in the same tank. I’m assuming after week 3 you just lowered the copper? By leaving him in you may have had a parasite get through and reinfect. 14 days only works with transfer to sterile tank because you are removing the fish from anything that got through the copper. Ugh I’m crossing my fingers for you.

I don't see any ich in the pics. I would look at your fishes' fins very carefully over the next few days, especially in the morning (ich often attaches at night). I'd also look for heavy breathing, flashing etc.

are the spots under the chin still there?

Spots are still there. But not breathing heavy or anything

Looks healthy ,Could just be a little lympho from stress of QT. Awesome fish

Another thing to consider — that tank is very new to be keeping anthias and blue face angelfish. How big is the tank?

Watch for parameter swings. Angels don’t handle new tanks well at all. Nor do anthias.

Also, large angels and anthias aren’t typically good tankmates.

The tank is 150 gallons.
They were tank mates in my old tank for over a year always got along.
Parameters are
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Salinity 0.0125
Tank was cycling for 5 weeks using dr Tim's and a couple of other stuff.
