So i traded a small patch of GSP for an ACAN BRAIN CORAL...(dont ask how I managed that deal)

On the bottom of the ACAN Is what I assume is an ORANGE BALL ANEMONE, which to my understanding is a corallimorpharian.

Am I right or am I right?
I sell Frags as a side business. If this is what I am thinking is this the 100 dollar jewel that kills critters on contact??? I would love to rub it on my damsel if it is, then sell it.

If this picture is rough, I will hget a better one in the morning. I was dealing with room light when I took this.

My guess is it's a strawberry anemone. They have clear tentacles with white bulbs on the tips with a reddish base and are non-photosynthetic. Sorry to burst your ball... I mean bubble;)

trust me, It doesnt burst my ball haha.

thats a relief actually...didnt want to frag something that expensive and small. Thanks

alright. thanks! not a big deal, i just glad I dont have to frag it and can just kill it, unless I can get it off of the rock without harming it.he is kinda cute

No, that is a strawberry nem. I had some in my old tank and loved seeing them come out at night. Wish I could get a few for my current tank.

I would like to know what it is because, I have a few on a rock and I am not sure what they are. If I can Ill try to post a picture. Im not sure if it is good or bad for the tank?

i just pulverized mine in a container. It is clearly still live though.I am going to propagate it and make it a separate tank...just to have it I guess. THrow in any fire worms or what ever pesky critters I find. lol

Got another one!>!>!>!>!

Ok, these guys keep coming back into my life. I have since dedicated a tank to it. It is a 55 with a 15watt 5050 from a 10 gallon.

It is in fact a strawberry Anemone. Which is apparently a "Priceless" Coralimorph? ok!!! I guess? It walks Like a nem..but it enjoys the dark I have realized. It eats mysis. I do hope it reproduces. Im going to feed it like 10 in one day then change the water and see what that does. Maybe he will make a family and ME a pretty penny?

What makes it priceless?

Pseudocorynactis anemone, come in all sorts of different colors, harmless and actually beneficial. I like them a lot, they stay hidden underneath rocks and frags so they normally don't sting anything.

True "strawberry" anemones are a coldwater species btw. And I am sorry to burst the other bubble but no, it is not worth anything. They come in on HH's all the time. But they are a neat little safe nem for mixed tanks.

Yeah I learned the coldwater thing the hard way by trying it. It definitely would have bean fine in my reef...I had it in my Tang heaven Tank in hopes it was what I thought...I wish I knew they were safe, I am on the lookout now for someone with any just cuz they are cool. I have an 8g biocube I might dedicate to it to try to populate it with them after i move. (10 days left!)

What benefits do they have????

yeah, the last one a had came on the botom of an Acan. strong little buggers, I scraped him off (to be safe as the acan was not cheap) and he survived the screwdriver fully. If i do a tank for them i will try to make it an "upside down" aquascape, rocks suspended in the water, that way i can actually see them haha.
