Was looking at my hammer when I noticed this under the polyps:

It’s not the best pic, I had to fully zoom in with my phone to get this.

Best way to deal with it?
Take hammer out of tank and scrape off aiptasia in one piece if can or inject into mouth with boiling water / lemon juice/kalkwasser I read.
Best to get hammer into little container of water to do this.
Most will say if got one then maybe more in tank and can get aiptasia eating filefish or aiptasia eating nudi's,( after aiptasia gone the nudis will die as that's their only diet)

Can inject them in dt also but turn all flow off for little while .
I read aiptasia x spreads them ,alot say.
Then there's f aiptasia which puts like a blanket over them.

Also peppermint shrimp eat them but get the correct ones.theres about 6 shrimp that all look similar and some eat them and some dont apparently, some say peppermint can eat some corals so there's that also

I've got a few on a zoa rock, keep meaning to remove rock and the 4-5 aiptasia but been 6 months or more now and only see same ones on the rock they came on.
But I've got a cbb fish so that could be eating Any that sprout up .
But they don't really bother me that much tbh,but that's just me.

Good luck

From this thread.

Any livestock I've mentioned or any livestock anyone thinking of adding to their tanks ,ovbiously need research the pros/cons/compatability/tank size etc etc before thinking off adding

Funny thing is, I have a few peppermint shrimp. Though they seem to be mysteriously absent for comparison at the moment.

Went with the option 1 and just scraped the ******* off my hammer outside of the tank.

quick question though. Does coral putty go bad? The latest sticks I’ve bought are very piecey and messy, and they tick of my corals.

The putty I got has 2 sticks and doesn't cause a chain reaction ( if that's correct terminology) and go hard till mix the 2 together ,I bought I think 8 boxes of it and still got 3 boxes left from over a year ago and just felt them and they still soft.

If you mean you used it to stick your hammer down and now pulled out tank and if can re-use?
Them that would depend on if its gone hard and set or not.
But maybe can just apply a dab if ca superglue to the hard epoxy and stick back down maybe ?

For sticking one little frag down I only use a little touch of each colour putty and mix together, usually add bit off glue to it and dont use that much tbh

The ones I’ve used are the kind where you have a single stick tear of a bit and mix it around. The problem is that when I put in my tank it starts to break up a bit and make the water a bit cloudy.this has happened with the last two sticks I’ve bought. The one I got before this one was not like this.

Not sure about the one stick ones.
But the ones I use also break apart a little and get bits falling off kind off thing, when I read up on it says in small amounts it not a problem and remember something about its just talcum powder maybe.and if just use for few frags at a time it's OK but if use alot and water goes cloudy then use an airstone or have more surface agitation.
Maybe Google which brand you got and see what it says
