So I noticed a small worm or something, maybe bristle, now sure. It disappeared right into a hole in the rock right after I snapped a couple pictures. It appeared to be white with almost black strips on it.
Possible pest.

It's a polychaete in the family Syllidae.

They are traditionally grouped into one of three types as being associated with mutualism, commensalism or parasitism. So there's a chance this guy isn't good for something. But even if they are parasites, it could be on something like sponges, bryozoans and hydroids, as they so often are.
