Possible replacements for a Radion XR15W G3 Pro

I have had the above light for about 4 years now and last year it stopped working, send it off for repairs which they did and it cost me around AU$100. Can't remember the issue but I think transformer(?) had to be replaced. That aside it came back and now I have the same problem again i.e. lights flashing red and not working. So before I send it off again I thought I will check what a replacement will cost but holy moly, will set me back almost AU$700 for a new one! So the question to all the informed people on here, what is my alternative to a Radion.

I have a 29G tank with a few fish and a few corals(soft) at this point.

I did a Google search and found a few option but no idea if it will provide similar lighting and if any good outside of the price!

You had a nice light. Like you mentioned though, expensive. I don’t have experience with either light but maybe someone around tonight does.

Imo you would be downgrading a lot with both of those lights. I say just upgrade to the gen 4 which greatly improved over the gen 3 xr15

Thanks for the reply, yes it is a nice light but the replacement is just to steep for now. I took it to my local LFS who will send it off to be checked out. If I am lucky it is just the fan and fixing it will cost little...so here is hoping!

PS Love that first line in your footer, I often tell people something similar. Wasting time and energy on worrying is counter productive, rather get your head down and move forward because 99% of the time the 'worry' never happens.

I realize that but a new one is currently very expensive in Australia. Anyway, LFS seems to think it may just be the fan which will be cheap enough to fix. That said, anything to fix will still be a lot cheaper than any new light. So maybe I fix this time and buy a new one when I can...
