I want get a red sea reefer 350 but I have a concern that the evaporated water would damage the ceiling. If I get a 93 gallon tank would it be possible for there be water damage on the roof, make mold grow ,or damage furniture near by and is there a way to protect this from happening even if it could happen . I was thinking that I could put a dehumidifier but those I heard are load and I was also thinking ther could be some lile clear water proofing paint or whatever I could put on the near by walls. Please leave any suggestions or if it even can happen

Welocme to the forum.

Unless the tank is in an tightly enclosed space it will be fine. It may raise humidity in the house a bit but no more than on a rainy day. It would not cause any reason to be concerned with mold.

And again, glad you joined

If you are in a normal sized room I would not worry about it. In the grand scheme of a home (showers, sinks, etc.) adding another few gallons of moisture to the air isn't as big of a deal as it might sound.

Way more moisture comes from running a humidifier

Used to have a 120g in a 17'x15' room, no issues with humidity or mold. Had a 75g in a slightly smaller room at one point as well. Only issue I had was a little salt creep/splashing on the wall behind the tank when I worked in it that I would occasionally wipe down.

Welcome to r2r. I am running a reefer 425xl for 2 years, no mold issues. Unless it's a tiny very sealed space, you should be ok.

I have a fish room in the basement that I sealed pretty well so I don't spend a bunch on heating it up all the time (basement overall is cold). There I have a dehumidifier set at humidity of 50.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
