Possible tanks - used but looks good

Hi R2R! In highlight of the tank my boyfriend and I are going to build (which is going to take quite a while, so we are going to get a starter tank

), we found a lovely tank on CL for $300. It's 130 gallons, predrilled with an overflow for easy sump set up, and also comes with a light.

There is a small crack on the lid, which isn't that bad, so we are thinking of looking at it.

Of course we would need to get a sump tank and the fixin's, and build a stand for it. Once we complete our build project we will end up moving this tank to his daughter's room and let her set up her own saltwater paradise!

It's either that tank or this one, for $550 which has complete sump set up, but we don't know a lot about this tank or its set up so we are weary of it.

P.S. I know most of you have said not to get a used tank but we would have no problems resealing if necessary, we are just looking for a nice, large starter tank that could be transitioned into my bf's daughter's room when we finish our build :bigsmile:

I have had 4 tanks in my life, 3 of them were used, never had any issues with any of them, it's a great way to cut down on the cost. I hate acrylic, because if you look at the wrong way, it's going to scratch, so I would do the 125, it's great that it comes with everything you need to get it running.

That's pretty insane, one of my friends got a 400 for like $500, but he had to rent an MRI crane to get it out of the guys basement

Jeez! That's intense. We have lots of ideas on how we are going to set up a starter tank. He was just talking to his daughter and she said she would love to have a saltwater tank

It's official. We are hooked and we haven't even set a tank up yet lol.
