I just bought a Bulk Reef Supply 4 stage plus ro/di unit. After the easy setup and about an hour of flushing the unit my tap water going in to the unit reads 1tds and going out is 0. Is this possible? Did I just waste my money on an ro/di unit since my tap water tds incredible?

No. 1 TDS tap water would eat your plumbing fixures it would be so agressive. If you have a dual inline TDS meter it should be reading the RO only on the IN probe and RO/DI on the OUT probe if it is installed correctly. NYC water is low TDS, usually in the 50-80 range, but it is also one of the highest in the US in susended solids which means particulates, silt and sediment so is very hard on RO prefilters. You coud have bought a better RO/DI for less money but you did OK with what you have, you can always installe better filters at the 6 month filter change.

Ahhhh that makes much more sense to me now lol. Thanks for the help once again AZDesertRat
