Possible Velvet??

I have a few tangs in QT at the moment. i treated a 55 gallon w\ 2500 MGs of CP for an expected range of 45\Gallon. This has been in place for a week. That last 2 days I have noticed a few of the fish swimming in front of the flow of the power head and just hanging there. There are no signs of ICK that I can see and no spots to detect velvet. But the behavior looks similar to velvet signs.

Any thoughts or course of action I should take? Should I up the dosage?

I know CP is suspectible to light but does that include light from the ceiling as well. it is in a bright spot of my bsmt

Should I switch from CP to copper.

I just checked the expiration date and it expired on. 5/22/2017. Can I still use this @Humblefish ?

Sounds like I should switch to copper for this tank fast. The qt was setup last week. But everything is from dt.

Swimming into the flow of a powerhead is mostly a symptom of velvet, but you could give one of the fish doing it a 5 min FW dip to check for flukes: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/freshwater-dip.248898/

If this is velvet, I would get it up to minimum therapeutic before you go to bed tonight. Enough time has already passed so that tomonts may be releasing free swimmers. Those need to be stopped to prevent further reinfection of the fish.

I would definitely remove all the CP, but they should be OK in copper.

If I understand. You want me at 2.0 by end of night. If I do that all fast wouldn’t that kill the wrasses ? What is the recommended game plan to get 2 by midnight
