I just noticed my yellowtail damsel has 3 large white spots on him. It's too big to be ich. It almost looks like chunks of him fell off. 2 spots near his dorsal fin and one on his anal fin. He seems to be acting fine.

How long have you had it? Any other fish in with it? Looks like a missing scale at the top.

I just got it last thursday. It looked fine until about an hour ago. The only other fish are a single young clownfish and a single firefish.

He also develeoped another white "spot" just in front of the one on the dorsal fin immediately after I took the pics.

Is it in a tank (or do you have another tank) where you could move it if need be? Neither the clown or the fire fish would be likely to have caused damage to this fish (much more likely to be the other way around). Before you reported a new spot, my suggestion was going to be wait and see. I’m thinking now you should prepare to intervene. Can you easily catch the fish for a FW dip?

The white things went away. I think he might have rubbed up against a rock and some chalk or something came off on him. Anyway thank you for the help!
