Possibly coral eating? Snail ID

So my favorite green toadstools stem was growing a hole in it recently and then started rotting off. I did surgery and sliced the healthy cap off, and inside the rotting part when I cut it, was a SNAIL! And yes it is still alive! Can anyone ID this curiosity?

Update: it looks similar to this type of parasitic snail I found online that digs into corals and eats them from the inside out! “Rapa Rapa” snail

I think you’re on the right there - I’d guess Rapa genus, either Rapa rapa or Rapa bulbiformis. Rapa rapa would be my guess though.

It’s fascinating to be honest, it’s sad I had to cut my favorite coral but I’m hopeful since I found the cause it will recover!
