So I'm intervieweing for a couple of new positions this week and one of them is in Windsor.
I'm not sure if I'll be bying or renting, but seeing as how my initial search has resulted in rents about twice what a mortgage would run, I'll probably be looking to buy, even though I'd prefer not to deal with the hassles of owning (I prefer to have my Spring/Summer weekends free for other activities).
Anyway... I really like where I am living now and was looking for suggestions of places to check out in that area that isn't crazy expensive. A decent local music scene, good bars/restaraunts with a focus on local beers/foods, lacks that angry p****d off agitated attitude that makes me hate living in the Eastern part of the state, kind of a laid back attitude. (I went back home to visit about a month ago and within 15 minutes of driving I was so agitated and angry, it got worse dealing with people in stores. It really made me appreciate this area) I'm in the Amherst/Northampton area currently.
It might be a tall order, but I'd prefer something under $800/month or under $200k to buy within 20-25 minutes of Windsor.
If anybody knows of cheap garages/workshops to rent in the area, that would open up some options for me as well.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
