At home, I test with my API, but I don't trust it a lot (I'm on the market for Red Sea testers). My LRS uses one of those electronic testers (forgot the brand name).Depends on what your feeding. If you feed mostly dry than yes. The phosphates comes from preservatives (reef roids will also raise phosphates. If your feed frozen than you should be fine. And phosphates and nitrates are linked. If one goes up (nitrates) the other goes up (phosphates). You want them balanced.
