I've had this yellow Banded Possum Wrasse for 3 and a half weeks. He was shy at first but acclimated quickly and began eating LRS frozen on the second day. He has been active and eating since then. Today, I noticed he had no response at feeding time and was extremely lethargic. I have been sick and as a result have not paid attention to the tanks this week. I'm not sure if this started today, or the last few days. Tank is a 20g dropoff. Other fish are a flame tail blenny and royal gramma, both of which are healthy and active, and not new additions.

I moved him to QT with a piece of live rock. I don't care about the rock, it was a piece of sump rock from a different tank. Right now, he's just laying on his side on the rock, barely breathing. QT is treated with Kanaplex. I also have on hand Metroplex, Focus, General Cure, Parazipro and Melafix. I cannot find my Coppersafe.

I'm so sorry! No advice but I'm following. I have a yellow banded possum wrasse that has started developing white patches as well. Mine is still eating and behaving normally though. How is your wrasse doing today? Have you figured out any kind of diagnoses?

Aw that's a shame. :( They're beautiful little fish.
Some of those spots suggest flukes. Did you dip it in freshwater after it died to see if anything comes off?

I have a Tanaka's Possum Wrasse in QT right now, I hope it does ok. All the Wetmorellas seem unusually delicate.

I did not. I've been feeling really under the weather lately so it didn't even cross my mind. I have parazipro on hand as well as general cure, and know about fw dips. It might have still been a little late but... actually I'm pretty sure a fw dip would have been too much stress.

I loved my favourite boi Tanakas possum. he made it about 6 months before he disappeared. he was always coming up to meet me for food cautiously and would eat like a delicate lady.

a combination of him being my favourite boi and costing me 90$ made his disappearance especially painful :(
