Hey all!
I’ve had a small issue with Dino’s for the last few weeks or so, I saw a small tuft so I took a water sample and sure enough 0-0 nitrates/phosphates. Since then I stopped dosing carbon two weeks ago, and fed heavily and still have 0-0 nitrates/phosphates, and they’ve gotten slightly worse. I normally don’t touch my sand when doing water changes, but I did when I first saw it and I think I brought a bunch of nutrients up to the surface. I’m currently doing a 3 day blackout to take them down a level and hopefully increase the phosphate/nitrate levels. The Dino’s are only on the sand, since I believe the bio diversity on my rocks is much higher than the sand. Once I’m out of the blackout does anyone have any tips for me? Should I leave the sand alone? Or try and siphon out all the nasty stuff? I have a UV sterilizer but I think the bulb is going bad so I ordered a new one. Any tips for increasing the bio diversity in the sand?

Right when I started to see it (lol was trying to get a picture of my clown)
No dinos a few months ago.
