I have a tank thread in Members tanks where I chart my tank's progress. If I have specific questions about say reef chemistry or inverts, is it better to post in those specific forums to get a better response? I know duplicate posts aren't encouraged. What's the best way to do it?

How I do it is this. If it is something I think one of my friends or regular tank followers can answer or I only want there opinion I ask on my tank thread.

If you post in a specific thread related to the topic or question you have, most of the time you'll get a quick response. You just need to filter or quarry all the answers before making a decision with their answers. Everyone is great on r2r but I caution you into making changes to your tank as some people aren't as knowledgable or don't have the long term knowledge of what you are asking. Also some people just pass along what someone else told them and they tell you like it's the gold standard. Also you will get people that say their way or that's it and they are never wrong. I find this in life as general anyways.

So fast specific answers to questions go to specific threads and start a new thread.

For answers from your friends or people you frequently talk reef with. Call them out on your thread with a @ and there r2r name like joekool and they will help if they can.

This is only my experiences and opinion. There may be a better way but this is how I go about it.

Maybe this helps
