Here's my idol:

See how big around his belly is!? He didn't come that fat but he has zero bones showing. The last ones you've posted you could see their spine and other bones and it or they looked thin. Mine was chubby and is now really fat (for an idol).
 
 
I would tend to agree that the MI is one of those fish most hobbyists have difficulty keeping long term. Someone posted they wanted to see a healthy specimen so I figured I would post this recent video.

This MI has been under our customer's care for 2.5 years. However I would call that the exception rather than the norm.

I've seen this in person it's a fatty really nice looking MI.

I see what you mean now. The one Im going to pick up Monday is so nice. His "streamers" are close to 6-7" long. I just don't want to kill it. Then again, that goes back to what I said, if I don't get it, someone with less experience might.
