My first saltwater system was a bio cube. These systems are designed to plug in and play.Lighting, pumps and small skimmer were included with my kit. It made a good beginner tank for me.I don't think I have any photos though.
Some easy to keep coral varieties include caulastrea(candy canes),mushrooms, acans and zoanthids.

I got some zoas , Kenya tree, mushrooms, long tenticle plate coral and a toad stool leather coral. They all are thriving, I got them half a year ago and since then they grew almost double the size. I have never fed them either. Would there be any benifits of feeding them? I would like more color in the tank though, what would give them more color?

This was my beginner tank. First time getting into Saltwater!

My first real reef tank was a biocube 29 gallon. I had a 10 gallon before that, but it was invert only. This little cube was really nice to start with, and as I got more and more into it, the size and shape allowed me to play with lighting, filtration and layout of the tank without a lot of added cost and construction time. In the end, I pulled off the canopy and rim and added a Kessil light and only ran a two little fishes GFO reactior as my filtration. Corals grew well, fish did fine (had bangaiis spawning in the tank).

Yeah, I got into the hobby knowing I wanted an SPS heavy tank, now I'm building a new tank that will be only sps!!

Yea that tank looks great, that's what I'm thriving for.what do you run in there? Reactors, dosers, fugium? I'm just wondering how far with the spending do I have to go to achieve that of what you have. ?!?

I was running a dual media reactor from BRS with HC GFO and Rox Carbon, Filter sock and a good skimmer. With a 8% water change weekly

I would have to agree to go with a BioCube. I started with one as my first tank about two and a half years ago and I love every bit of it. The tank is super simple and the parts and accessories seem to available everywhere you go. The best part is that you can do pretty much anything with the tank without the added expenses of running a bigger tank. Mine is purely dominated by LPS and Zoas with a couple of specialty pieces such as SPS and a Clam. They also offer a full line of accessories such as protein skimmers that are designed to fit. There is also a bunch of other companies that make mods for these setups to run it the way you want. All in All you cannot go wrong with a BioCube. I want more room but don't want to get rid of my BioCube

This is a more recent after a change of lights and adding more corals and changing around my rockwork. The lights were just turned on and the corals weren't really open.

I see purple coraline on everyone's tank even the begginers tank and I just can't get it. I had my tank for almost a year and add purple coraline chemical to speed it up but nothing is happening.

My first. Running just over 2yrs now. I'll be tearing it down in a few months after I've completed selling and transferring things over to the 180 I'm currently building.
