i have a 12" high tank w 150w mh: noticed some zoas lose color some have better color. the height from zoa to light is about 8".

how high are your light from your zoas? i was just wondering why some people have such strong lighting, 250w or more.

im also thinking what would be the min lighting to keep the best color w minimal wattage.

dont have halides, but i have nova extreme pro 6 bulb with all ATIs, i always try to acclimate zoas, favias, sps, to my lighting, my zoas are all over, some are on the sand and some are high up on a rack. my AoG, and armageddons and dragon fire zoas are on the ground cause that is the only space left. But my blue eye devils, devil eye, fire and ice, triple reds, superman palys etcccc....are in the middle to high lighting....they all have good color, especially my orange envy.=p but thats just from my experience, others will chime in as well

which t5's would u recommend? im looking for a 36" one. tanks almost 48" but one side is close to the wall so want to go 36" and move the light a little off the wall. this is my frag tank. i've never had t5s would that tek one be good? i like the look of it with the stand.

6' 215 brown hair blue eyes...oh you meant tank specs sorry!!

I have 250w 20K over a 24g and about 5" off the surface and my palys/zoas are fine...how long is your photoperiod?

although my photoperiod is only 4.5 hrs
