Potassium and Hanna Phosphate ULR

So I dosed potassium into my tank due to low levels. Then right after probably 20 minutes I decided to check phosphates with my Hanna phosphate ULR and gave me a really high level 156 ppb which equates to 0.47 ppm phosphates, did the addition of potassium cause an erroneous reading? Specifically triton potassium

I’m not sure what else may be in Triton’s product, but the potassium did not mess with the test and I think it unlikely any Triton product will unless it is a phosphate additive.

I did notice the reagent package from the Hanna phosphate ulr says it contains potassium disulfge, so it just made me think it can possibly cause issues with the test

But I do remember dosing vibrant yesterday that could have caused a massive die off of hair algae in my tank...hmmm

Will the algae die off increase the phosphate levels?

Algae die off will increase lots of things, potentially including nitrate and phosphate.
