Hi
Could someone please check my math for dosing diy iodine please.

Stock solution
1L rodi + 1g of potassium iodide

16.5ml of this solution will raise 550L of aquarium water by 0.03ppm?

Also, could i mix my stock solution to be 10x more potent or would this mess with the stability of it?

thanks in advance
Anth

More potent will be more stable, not less.

Yes, you can up the potency.

I get 0.022 ppm for the dose you suggest.

Remember, KI is only 76% iodide by weight.

That’s excellent, thanks for the help

Please could I also check my maths before nuking my tank:

5g of 99.9% Potassium Iodide in 1L RO water.
Current Iodine level is 15.33ug/L, target is 63.99 ug/L
31.8ml of solution needed to raise 2,500L to target level?

Thanks for all the help Chemi-gurus, this stuff is not intuitive to most people!
