Potassium Nitrate dosing

Does Potassium Nitrate go bad so to speak after mixing ? I mix a gallon at a time and dose 75ml daily so this lasts me about a month and half .... i opened the container last night after about a few weeks and it smells like rotten butt ( not heavy but a faint smell ) is this normal ?

I can’t really tell you as I personally have never smelled a rotten butt. Not sure if it’s normal but given that it’s used to make explosives , match heads,fertilizers, fireworks, glass and rocket fuel one would have to expect it to have some sort of smell .

It by itself shouldn’t have a Oder . Maybe the water your using to mix it or the container may have entrails of this rotten but you speak of . Maybe hard mineral water or interaction with chlorine from the water or maybe the jug or container your using was used for another purpose prior !!! Good luck with that hope I helped !!!
