to you what the best potassium test?
I usually buy salifert
but I can not find more :(
Merry Christmas
thanks

Unfortunately Red Sea potassium test is quite complicated (including filtration etc.) and it takes half an hour to make the measurement, and the color change is not that sharp and visible. The other tests like Fauna Marin's are very hard to read. @Habib(Salifert) promised that new batch of their K test will be available in November but still is not on the market.

this stays on their website since 2012 when the Salifert Potassium test was introduced first.
Btw did you ask yourself why Potassium kit box differs from the other Slifert tests? Because it is not "Profi" test :) The plan was to have more accurate Potassium Profi test (5 ppm) but it never pop up.

There is no new version, all remained the same. Unfortunately we were forced to give priority to other things otherwise they would have been available half november. Our distributors are notified that around the 15th of Januari they will be shipped out. :)

The reef test where the potassium kit belongs to is going to be a new line of tests, easier to use and accurate but a bit less accurate than the profi line. In case of the potassium kit the current one has an accuracy of approx. 10 ppm. A profi version could go down to 5 ppm. Not sure if that would be desired.

The reason why we did not produce it for a while has been explained before. Nothing to do with a change in version because that is not the case.

Hope that clarifies things. :)

Sure we are looking at ways, as we do with all things, if we can make it even easier or even better, but a change if any would be not now or in the very near future.

Sorry to hear that. Has the company gone under and the site taken on a life of its own, or are the company owners just clueless? Thanks for the update.

Habib --- Any update on the Potassium Test Kit availability?

Thanks...

Have been offline. In which part of the world are you located? The shipment for UK left our warehouse for the distributer. Expect to be in shops by the end of coming week. Add one-three days more for East-Asia and Continental Europe. I can tell early next week when in the USA.

@biom , there will be a Profi version in about 3 months.

Thank you for the update Habib! FWIW, I'm in the USA.

Great news, thank you Habib! The profi version will be specially for me I suppose :D. There are rumors that the other profi kits will have new versions too :), are they only rumors?

While I haven't tried any other potassium test kit, i agree Saliferts is awesome, and I wouldnt change a thing. Except price :D

I love how fast and quick it is. Plus i love how the color change is dramatic

I see where the Potassium test kit is now available in the United Kingdom, Spain and Canada. I guess it will be hitting the USA any day now...

hello
thanks for your report you now what is the stores in Spain and United Kingdam please
thanks

and the color change is not that sharp and visible.

I completely disagree. It is one of the sharpest color changes I have ever seen in a test kit and lord knows I have tried a lot.

The red sea kit is time consuming and complicated yes. But it is accurate, widely available, well packaged, easy to read, and reasonably priced. For a parameter that I don't need to test often I would rather have those traits than speed.

I'm very happy you like it. May be I'm partly color blind like 20% of men population.
in Europe Red sea Potassium Pro 40 tests costs about 44$, Salifert Potassium again for 40 tests costs about 16$. So I don't find Read Sea test kit price reasonable at least for me. Salifert testing takes less than 3 min to perform, Red Sea takes more than 20-25 min. Color change in Salifert is very dramatic from white to blue, no room for guessing, Red sea color change is from purple blue to blue and at least for me was hard to find right point because color changes slowly.
here is good video for comparison of both tests and my experience is exactly the same
