I am looking into starting a dosing regiment with a potassium supplement. I was wondering how many other reefers out there do this, and what would be the best product to use. I have a mixed reef, that is predominantly SPS. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you monitoring potassium?

It should not deplete fast enough to need a doser, but you could use one if you wanted. I would use something like iHerb potassium chloride.

FWIW, my tank does not get deficient in potassium, despite carbon dosing and skimming. The water changes and foods are adequate to maintain it. :)

My potassium depletes really quickly. I manually dose it once a week. Weekly water changes aren't enough to keep mine up. If I don't manually dose, it can easily drop 50ppm in one month, and eventually things start looking really bad. Corals start to grey out. First victims are usually montiporas and cyphastrea, and then STN on acros.

Was a zeovit tank, and now I'm on biopellets.
