I never said you were lying. You made the statement that if you use Aiptasia-X in the tank, that aiptasia WILL spread. This is not correct as I and many others have used it this way with great success. Yes, there's a chance with any in-tank method (including peppermint shrimp) that it MIGHT spread, but again, my comment was regarding the idea that it definitely will spread, which is not true.I disagree with Erin1971texas who said what I said was I lie.
Just tweezer it off outside of your tank and yes Aptasia X works well. I have used it often.Great advice! Just put in an order for Aiptasia X from Amazon. To kill it and any others if they crop up. I've had the torch for a while so I'm assuming that's not the only little bugger hiding.
Think reef dip it would remove it?
If I start to see more show up - like a dozen or so, do we think it'll be time to look into the peppermint shrimp/another fish to eat them? I only have a 24g cube so my options are somewhat limited.
A couple of months ago I spotted 2, I figured there were probably more in places I couldn’t see. I ordered 4 Berghia nudibranchs from Reef Town and in 3 days they were gone. I haven’t seen any yet. A Berghia’s only diet is aiptasia, reef safe. You can purchase a peppermint if you so wish of course. I am a hard NO on peppermints. They arent guaranteed to eat aiptasia by any means and they will munch on just about anything including other nems you do want, softies, snails and such.

Oh dear, crossing my fingers for you. The problem is if you didn't get it all, any living cell that broke off is a potential for another aptaisia. This is why in my first post I suggested you do it outside the tank. It's a new plug, would have been very easy to take it off and repaste it back in place. This is the advice I like, thank you! I ended up giving my visible aiptasias a little vinegar squirt and they've been missing ever since then, but if and when they pop back up again - I'll definitely pick up some of those. I like natural remedies a lot.
