Hey all,

I'm new to the hobby and need some assistance. I have a few frag plugs I want you to look at and tell me what you think is going on.

Background

I have a 60 gallon waterbox that I cycled in May. Currently I have 7 plugs and 3 fish (lawnmower Blenny, Six line wrasse and diamond goby). I'm currently spot feeding BW Coral amino, BRS reef chili and Restore (for these specific corals). I'm also dosing MB7 to help with a little algae outbreak which is almost gone now. I just started to seed my tank with pods and phyto as well.

Tank parameters

Salinity - 1.0245
Temp - 77-78
PH - 8.2
ORP - 230
Alkalinity - 8.0
Calcium - 400
Magnesium - 1350
Phosphate - 0.18
Nitrate - ~15
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0

Corals

First is a Lobo I have. It looks like it has warts, is this normal?

2nd lobo that was recently fragged. I picked it up from the LFS last week and got a good deal on it because it was still healing. Before I put it in the tank I ended up cutting part of the skeleton (is this the correct term for the white part) down a bit so when the tissue grows back it wouldn't tear.

This Acan has a weird tail thing coming from it. This just recently happened about a week or two ago and it won't go away. Algae?

2nd Acan - There isn't anything wrong with this one. I wanted to know if the coral is starting to grow a new polyp around where the tissue is curling up. If not, what is it doing?

If you have any additional questions please let me know.

Thanks,

Nick

EDIT: I added some soda ash to raise alk after those readings. I plan to raise alk up to 9.

This is a reef problem. so... I never ran into any of these issues, but that algae from the lobo mouth is very scary to me. I wonder if its on the skeleton? I have no idea. The receding lobo that might be a sponge in that area. A white light picture would be helpful to identify if it's new growth or sponge.

Hopefully someone with a bit more experience on this situation will be able to provide better information.

Try raising salinity to 1.026 and the temp to around 80. I know my corals grew faster and looked better under higher temps and salinity. Also did you dip?

Yes I used reef dip for 10 minutes on everything.
