Hi All,

I've got a 265L Tank (EA Pro 900S), It's currently got what appears to be either Green Cyano or Dino.

I thought it was Red Cyano so I treated for that, however it's not really helped.

Tank Specs:
265L - EA Pro 990S
Auto Dosing Triton Method (Core 7) 5ml/6 cycles/day
ALR1 with Cheato
4000L/ph Return Pump
Deltec Skimmer
H2O Fluidiser Reactor (Nothing in this)
ATO with 0-1TDS RO Water
2x Heaters (Titanium)

Water Specs (at last test):
Ammonia - <0.005
Nitrite - 0ppm
Nitrate - 10ppm (this dropped from 25, however the Cyano/Dino might be interfering with the result)
Phosphate - 0.03ppm (this also dropped from 0.08 - again could be due to the Cyano/Dino)
Alkalinity - 9.8dKH
Salinity - 1.026
Temp -m 26.5

Please help, I'm a little lost now.

Tanks,
Nick

Could you post pics without the blue lights on?

Have the problems started after the nutrients (N and P) dropped?

The problems have been there for quite some time, It looked like Diatom Bloom then It got worse and worse.

I'll get some more photos tomorrow as I don't want to tick the fish off due to the lights been on sunset atm.

How old is your tank? Does the material go away overnight... or at least seem to dissipate only to come back strong when the lights come back on? is it on your rock as well as the sand bed? Have you tried siphoning the material out of your tank... don't filter through a sock.... throw the water and material away.... replace with new water...

Best way to tell 100% for sure.... put some of the material on a slide and under a microscope. If it is a mass of small independently moving organisms you have dinos.

Looks like dinoflagellates- a typical new tank ugly and eventually subsides.
A clean up crew of snails Will assist somewhat but not eliminate the ugliness.
