Potential ich treatment question

I can’t get a good picture and the fish in question definitely has lympho so the spot I see could be lympho but in preparation in case it is ich I have a question. It’s a fish that is already in my QT tank as it hasn’t been here long but I use some ceramic media in my HOB filter. I read that live rock and sand can absorb copper, does the same go for the ceramic media?

For what it’s worth it’s a 40 gallon bare bottom QT with a HOB filter with the bag of media and a filter pad. Then I have an oversized sponge filter and some PVC pieces in the tank so I would hope the sponge filter and the filter pad can cover it if I need to take out the ceramic media but thought I would check in advance. There are 4total fish in QT and I don’t see anything with the other 3, although one other one had lympho as well when it arrived. I haven’t noticed any scratching so I’m hoping this spot continues to grow and is just lympho but want to be prepared if it isn’t.

So far we are only reasonably sure that Seachem Matrix and Fluval Biomax will not absorb copper.

Just finished 30 days of Coppersafe in a 20 QT. Did not detect any absorption of copper by Fluval Biomax at this point. More testing with a Hanna High Level Copper Checker in my next QT in a couple of weeks.

I've also been using coppersafe among a couple qts for the past 3 weeks.. No absorption from biomax either.
Also verified with Hanna checker

Thanks all, I may pick up some biomax just for more surface area and I have coppersafe on hand and an API test kit for copper, I’m hoping this spot continues to grow and is just another lympho spot as copper still makes me nervous being newer. Afraid I’ll screw something up and kill the fish trying to treat them.

In case you do need to start dosing. Do not go by the manufacturer's recommendation or you may end up at double the suggested therapeutic range. I'd start lower... Like .8ml per gallon instead of the 1.25 and spread it out over a couple days. Test after every dose
