So...the next thing to tackle on my 120 gallon is a potential leak. It's possibly a very small leak on 1 of my 2 drain lines. Here's the catch. I can't actually feel any moisture on the line, there is no pooling water on the floor of the stand. But there is salt creep at the connection and down the hose.

I currently have soft plumbing (grey spa hose?). If I do replumb, I'll probably go with hard tubing...maybe...I'm still in the exploratory phase of this.

Question. Is this even possible without having to drain the entire tank. If I have to, I have to...but I'd really like to avoid it it at all possible. I had a leak in the same type of hose (ok, I guess I'm a slow learner...or maybe just hard headed) at the barb fitting on the bulkhead. After talking to the owner of my LFS (who I trust), we decided on slip fit bulkheads with PVC glued into them and the spa hose glued to that. I drained the tank down past the first set of overflow teeth and then drained the overflow itself. Replaced the bulkhead, let the glue dry and refilled the overflow and topped off the tank. Worked great. It's been fine since October 2015.

Last night, while doing some dosing (NOPOX...also battling a high Nitrate problem) I noticed the salt creep. As some of you may have read in my Energy Bar 8 thread, I am a worrier and this has had me in a cold sweat all night and day today....

Would this partial drain work for this, too?

Any thoughts would be very helpful and appreciated!!

Take Care, everyone.

Yo can remove some water out of the tank to where it's not reaching the overflow.
