I'm thing of putting a new tank in my bedroom but I'm wondering if the area is gonna get too much sunlight to the point where algae growth will be a big problem. I want to keep the tank as low algae as possible just like everyone else, but I'm not sure whether or not that will be possible when putting it where I would want it. I'll include some pictures.

So this is where I want to put the tank, I would replace the dresser with a nice stand. The next picture is the view from directly atop the dresser, essentially where the tank,would be.

So obviously with the 3 windows there, the room gets a lot of light unless the blinds are fully or partially closed. I do generally keep the blinds closed, but my question is will keeping the blinds closed be essential in preventing algae growth? If the room does get a bit too much light, are there any tank accessories that I could use to stop algae growth? Thanks for any feedback

Could paint all but the front black and that would help keep light out of the tank. Could also tint the Windows themselves

Algae needs two things to grow light and nutrients. In a reef tank controlling the nutrients is the best way to keep algae in check. The algae turf scrubber is a great way to export nutrients.

Another concern is noise. When I see tanks in bedrooms noise generally is the biggest concern. AIO tanks are best for bedrooms less splashing of water do to the overflow. Using a Algae scrubber like the Sana Monica Drop series works best in AIO systems.

Algae will grow for sure, but not if you have a clean up crew and use appropriate export methods of po4. I use an ats. My main concern is overheating from dirtsublight.

How big is the room and how big is your tank going to be? If the room is small and not well vented and the tank is huge, your girl friend my not like the smell of the ocean trapped in a box :-);

Size of the stand,you know I'll help you with the setup.
