Hey guys

Im ordering some Reef cleaners on love aquaria and they have a special. 100$ spent you get free shipping so I figure I would buy a fish along with my cleaners. I’m looking for a new fish. I really want a dwarf angel. I had a flame angel but he jumped out a few years ago. My tank is stocked with sps and lps corals. I really like the potters angel fish. Is this fish as safe as the flame angel or is it definitely going to eat my Coral ? Any other suggestions for cool fish I can get on live aquaria?

Thanks ! [emoji225][emoji226]

There is only like one species of angel that is 100% reef safe, and it’s a large one. All others, including dwarf angels like the Potter’s angel, are a gamble.

All dwarf angel are a gamble but I would say you'll be ok as long as you have plenty of pods and can then transition him to pellets and frozen foods.

However, this fish is difficult to QT. I remember seeing a chart on this forum siting that they are the least likely dwarf angel to nip at coral. I'll post it if I see it.

PS I have one in my tank (female potters) and it's by far the most active fish in my tank.

Why are they difficult to QT? Can I treat him with prazi? And what about copper?

From my experience and others from this forum, Potters are very picky eaters and often require live foods to maintain them while in QT.

Prazi and chelated copper are safe.

From what I’ve heard, potters are one of the safer dwarf angels. So far mine has been good.
By the way if you want one, nows the time since Hawaii collection was banned. Who knows if they will be available in the future.
