Is it common or has anyone ever known a potters angel to eat lps. Specifically acans?

My potters keeps nipping at an acan.. only 2 of 5 I have. The acans are dying, but can’t tell if it’s eating algae or what. Been watching closely but can’t tell.
He nips on a lot of rocks aswell and doesn’t seem to touch any other corals.

Potters are reportedly one of the safer drawf angels for a reef but acans are one of the most tempting corals for reef safe with caution fish like dwarf angels.

All Dwarf Angels are a gamble, but Potter's tend to be one of the better behaved ones. I would certainly trust one in a mixed reef long before the likes of a Lemon Peel, Bicolor, Eibli, etc. Regardless of the Dwarf Angel though an established tank with daily seaweed/nori feedings will help increase your chances of them leaving your corals alone.

Potters is perhaps the most motivated grazer of all the dwarf angels. Mine literally spends all its time picking at the rocks. Not surprising that it would pick at acans.

Unfortunately this isn’t uncommon. Even more unfortunate is that once they start, they don’t “forget”, typically it worsens over time.

I have a potters angel, probably over 6 months. Likes to hang out with the tangs and pick on algae. I have lps and sps no nips at all
