Potter’s Angelfish pair

I have breed potters and I still am now it is easier than people say it is the flames I have not has sucess with I think when you do your research and do everything right you can breed potters I will post a pic of my pair when I get back

Do you have any baby currently? I would love to buy a pair from you. Where do you sale your baby fish to?

I got a pair of Heraldis and a pair of flames.

I picked the Heraldi because they are one of the mellowest dwarfs. The Heraldi are the bosses and don't often chase the male flame, but it still happens.

If I could go back, I would have gone with 3 or 4 flames instead.

Here they are spawning and the baby Banggai are eating their eggs.

BTW, you can certainly add more Flame Angels, just make sure the new angels are females. I have done this a lot of times.

As mentioned here, Potters are fairly easy to pair. I had a pair in a 550 gals and the way I paired them was just gong for 2 small ones and they will figure it out. The issue here though is with your choice of species as the male I had, albeit in 550 gals, would not allow any other centropyge in the tank! Male potters are mean!

They have been together for 8 months.

I won't add any more fish or corals, the tank is 200 gallons but is not very long, just 55".

The Heraldis are very food oriented, they're not aggressive fish at all. Their aggression is almost always motivated by food or when deciding where to sleep. The male flame follows them around most of the time while the female flame is minding her own business.

The last fish to enter was the female flame and the fish who gave her the worst reception were the tomini tang and especially the flame hawks.

Local lfs they love the blue morphs I bring I can see if any off them are ready for shipping potters have a harder time shipping so I have to be careful seeing which ones are ready and which ones are not I will be more than happy to sell you guys some

I'm honestly surprised that even with a 500 gallon tank, the Potter's are mean, but I'm exactly curious on what the sizes were when they were first introduced? Were they of the same size?

Yea surprised me as well! I intorduced a C. multicolor shortly after they paired up and that did not go very well and took quite a while for it to be "tolerated". It was also aggressive towards juvi large angels at intro.
The were both almost the same size (a bit less than 2") but once sexed, the male grew exponentially faster.

Hmmm so it looks very much like tussels between clownfish, with the female growing exponentially quicker than the male (as with clownfish).

I guess if I could find a healthy specimen, eating wouldn’t be a problem?

Note sure if I gut lucky with them or not, but usually if it is more than one, once one of them starts feeding the rest follow suit. Would also help if you know the specimen you got was readily feeding at the store and what it was being fed so you can replicate.
