Hey everybody we put in a potters angel into our tank about 3 weeks ago. We haven't gotten him to eat anything since. He's colorful and hasn't lost any weight. He was also at the lfs for about a month and eating there. They showed us him eat before purchase. I assume he's eating something off the rocks or glass cause he's not dead yet. We've tried frozen mysis, brine, angel food, also pellets and flake with no success. Tried to soak in garlic also with no success. He swims near the food and looks interested but never actually eats anything. He doesn't look like he has any diseases. Params are pH 8.2, ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 0, phosphate 0, salinity 1.024, and temp 78. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into LRS Reef frenzy? They are a great company and all our fish and coral love their food. Even our brand new additions would eat right away with this food.

I would stick some nori in between some rocks as well for it to graze on, they're supposed to be omnivores so the nori may give it something to pick at when things quiet down in the tank. You can also try to broadcast the amount of food you feed your fish over a wider area to give the angel a quiet place to eat.

Do any of its tank mates show any aggression during feedings?

Not so much aggression but the clowns love to eat.

Can you find out what he was eating at the LFS?

Also was trying some rods algae sheets. No interest in that either.

That was what I would start with too. That and/or nutramar Ova or cyclopes. Something small that travels throughout the tank. I've never had a fish refuse Ova/Cyclopes but then I can almost count all of the fish I've owned on two hands lol!

Go to the grocery store and buy a single small clam/cockle. Pop it open and drop it in the tank on the half shell. If that doesn't work, then vvv

also might wanna try live black worms. They are great at getting finicky fish to start eating.

Live black worms are your friend. For picky benthic feeders, they are your best bet. Put them in the empty clam shell for maximum effect.

I shall try these. Thanks for the help!
