Potters Angelfish In A Reef Tank?

How do Potters Angelfish do in a reef tank? Any current or previous Potters owners please feel free to chime in on your experience. Thank you!

I had one in a full mixed reef, never touched the zoas or palys. Constantly nipped at SPS polyps, so never any polyp extention on any of my sticks or encrusting montis. They are also agressive, need a bigger fish to keep him in check, or he will bully everyone.

I had one for a few years until he jump out the tank. Never had a problem with him.

Years ago I had a pair, which were great -- with the exception of flesh LPS (( I will never trust any dwarf angel with flesh LPS )), and I currently have one with another dwarf in my 75. It pretty much picks at the rocks all day -- so a tank with mature live rock goes a long with with these difficult dwarfs. Plus, they will do better with slightly cooler temps.

Its a crap shoot really, because some pick on sps, some pick on lps, some pick on zoas, and some only pick on rocks. Mine never touched lps or zoas but always nipped at sps, he even got one of my yellow tangs to start picking at sps polyps after seeing him do it so often. I have a large sps tank so it doesnt bother me too much as they never do much harm but I would rather they didnt do it at all. Every fish is different and you will be taking a chance putting one in your mixed reef for sure. The question is, are you ready to deal with it if it does pick at stuff?

Thanks for the quick replies. I know it's hit or miss with any semi reef safe Angelfish. I'm looking to do something different with fish for my 93 cube. Been toying around with alot of different ideas... Some good and some dumb.

Never had any problems myself with dwarf angels picking on corals. 2 Potter's and a Multicolor. I have no clams nor do I plan on having any, if you do, be very cautious with dwarf angels.

Never had a problem with any of my dwarf angels (potter’s included) or regular angels, they have never picked on zoa's, lps, sps, or clams. I’ve always equated it to sufficient feeding though, they’re all fat and happy, no need for them to pick on anything for extra food.
