Potters with distended belly

The Ruby Reef Rally will buy some time and help with the infection. Great stuff. Highly recommend.

Woke up today and the Potters didn't make it, which stinks because that and a purple tang are kind of my goal fishes.

But now my question is what to do about the wrasse that was sharing the QT. I don't see anything wrong with it, it eats, sleeps in his sand bowl, etc. Do I continue the next 2 rounds of Metro + Kanaplex since I started round 1? Add Carbon to pull the meds out? Do I add some observation time to its stay in QT? Can it be moved to the display as it's been in QT over a month now and has been through 2 rounds of prazi, 10 days where Metro + Focus was used in the food, and now it's been through 1 treatment of Metro+Kanaplex (Furan 2 is en route).

Thanks for any insight. Probably will give a Potters another shot once one of the 2 QT tanks frees up.

To end on a positive note the Yellow tang looks better each day so that's good. He's starting to get thicker and become a bit more assertive with his fellow QT mates for the food which is probably a positive sign.

Sorry for the loss, you did all you could.

Potter's angels are amazing, do try again sometime.

Sad losing the Potter's Angel. Beautiful fish. Sorry for your loss. You did what was right for your fish.
But it does confirm the likelihood of a nasty gram negative infection. If those were my fish, knowing they were in the tank with a fish with this nasty of a disease and could have come in contact with the fish, and if the fish are doing well in the QT, I'd go ahead and finish the antibiotics, just for peace of mind and to protect the health of the fish.

I really hate those bacterial infections, the more I learn and experience. I keep the "Trifecta" metro+kanaplex+furan2, on hand at all times and
Maracyn 1 & 2 and
Nitrofuracine Green Powder.

Thanks. I ordered the Furan 2 as well as some more metro and kanaplex. I'll look into the others as well as I don't have those on hand. Since I'm waiting on the Furan 2, do I dose the Metro and Kanaplex today since it's been 2 days and then by next dose I should have Furan 2, do I just include that Monday when I should have it?

That's exactly what I would do.
Check out the NFG powder. A lot of LFS, suppliers use it. It's a very useful tool to have in your med cabinet. You won't find it in stores, probably. Online is the way to go.

So the Furan didn't arrive until I had completed 3 treatments of Kanaplex + Metro for the wrasse. He seems fine, I see no visible issues with him, and I never did see anything amiss with him. He's still eating and sleeping in the sand at night. Do you think it would be save to move him to the DT now?

Yellow Tang in other QT tank continues to look better and better. The lympho spots are almost all gone now. He has a couple left on one fin (I think, he wouldn't slow down today enough to see well) and the site of the biggest spot on his bottom fin is almost all healed up to one intact fin and he's really plumped up. He's also now probably beyond assertive to borderline jerk but there's no prolonged trouble, he just makes sure he gets first shot at the nori. That QT tank has been slightly cloudy but I test and nothing seems out of whack, 0 ammonia and the alert badge is still yellow as well.

I would complete 10 days worth of Kanaplex + Metro treatment before transferring them to the DT.
