I picked up a female potters Wrasse 3 weeks ago. She was with the collector for 2 weeks and had 2 rounds of Prazi with them.

She has been very pale since day one. She eats mysis, brine, live black works and pods. I haven't noticed any issues with her poop, but she is skinny. She is eating well.

What I noticed is after feeding her, 5-6 min later she will lay on her side if the tank as if she is dying. Then after 3-4 min she will be back to swimming.

There are no buldges along her body, and other than. Pale colors, the dying thing after eating and being on the skinny side she seems fine.

I was thinking she has a internal issue to lay on her side after eating, and that may be related to the pale colors.

Thoughts?

I started GC and Focus 3 days ago as a preventative. Poop looks fine, but was unsure about another internal issue that maybe causing digestive issues.

It’s good that you started this, hopefully it starts to turn around. You could also try feeding kanaplex as well, Maybe alternating feedings (at least once each daily)... in case there is some sort of internal infection...

Also, as low stress environment as possible. These guys are awful shippers and might need a good amount of recovery time...

She's in her own QT, PVC Sand dish, no action in that room other than when we come over to feed her.

I was more interested in why the laying down after eating. I've never seen that before.

I wish you better luck than I’ve had. These guys are tuff. I’ve been threw 3 so far

I guess some fish just do not QT.
When we placed her into the display she still looked as white and pale as she did in qt. We came back after an hour and saw this, a real potters.

A big part of it is probably the lighting. Unless you are running reef grade lighting over your QT you won't see the true beauty until they make it to DT.

I was running blue/white LEDs on qt, t5 on display. However the way she looked in the pictures up top she also looked when we first placed her into the DT, after 10 minutes of watching her meet the others we left. During that time she still looked pale. She may have just been stressed in qt. Regardless, she looks great.
