Pouring Hanna Phospate Powder

Heard of a number of people spilling the powder when using the hanna phospate checkers.

Thought I would share my technique in the hope it will helps some people.

First tap the packet so the powder is
towards the bottom.

Cut the pack along the line, but make the end more square.

Fold the packet as shown, putting a crease in the edges.

Then pour the contains in with one of the edges. Tap the packet to ensure all powder is dispensed.

Thats what the directions on my hanna reagent pack says to do so ive always done it that way. lol.
I also think the hach chlorine meter i use for work tells you to pinch the reagent packages to pour too. Its really the only way to do it and get all the powder in there

I do a square cut as well. Plus a tiny funnel from amazon...

I have tried for years to use this method/theirs, and came up with my own as I still couldn't get it into the cuvette without losing some powder.
I forcefully tap 2 edges to try to bring all the powder to the bottom, away from the cut areas.
I cut the top on 2 edges near the corner, then cut the corner off about 1/8".
I then tease the opening open with a pointed instrument and squeeze the opening into a cuvette-friendly shape.
After pouring the powder into the cuvette, I tap the other end until nothing comes out, then I finally cut off the 2 sides to ensure all the powder is out.

Tap the edges farthest from the cuts to move the powder away and reduce loss

Cut the edges off ...

Use something pointed to open the cut and shape it into a friendly spout to pour into the cuvette

Gently pour it into the cuvette while tapping the back edge of the packet, then fully cut the packet open at the 'cut lines' to ensure you've added 'all' the powder.
