My Powder Blue who has done very well after a rough start out of a stressed quarantine and then stressed entry to the DT until the clown tang was removed has a pop eye. Not as bad as a gold fish haha. But bad.
He eats great brine and seaweed. Very active. No negative behavior. Not a loaded 180 to stress him only other tang and a yellow and they get along fine.
I have read this can be stress related.
We make sure he has seaweed often.

Anyone else see this or treat this?
I don't want to quarentine him I think it will stress him for sure pictures later sorry

I moved this over to the disease forum for better response.

When my purple tang got pop eye from antaginoizing the 2 Angels til they fought back, I dipped him in paragaurd twice. I kept him in main tank just in a breeder net for easy catching.

Did that fix the eye?

How long since the stresser was removed? It should be back to normal in a week or so if all conditions are good. It's not gonna go away overnight.

Been long enough well over one month...he just does not show signs of stress eats well and acts normal

Yes, the swelling went down after the second dip. Cloudy and redness went away around 7 to 10 days. I don't remember exactly.

Hmmm. Good stuff thanks. Maybe a local infection or something

In my experience, popeye usually resolves on its own without any intervention. My achilles had it for about a week once, then it went away completely and stayed away (I did nothing). My hippo tang recently had it and it also went away too. I think it's from scraping it on something by accident (a piece of coral perhaps)

Good to hear that. It's been a few weeks that's why I'm concerned. But happy to wait it out vs trauma of catching and dipping. I think being patient may be best for awhile

I started this thread in April. My happy eating powder blue still has a pop eye. All else normal. Eats great. Afraid to stress him by dipping as these guys stress so easy... but this eye not getting better on its own...
