I want a powder blue I have lost about 13 in the past can someone help now I have a new tank been setup from aug

well I've had mine for close to 15 years now so I can tell you what works for me and their basic requirements...they are a very active fish so they need to be fed everyday a varied diet. When purchasing one watch it eat first. They need alot of open water to swim so I recommend a tank of at least 48" wide or larger. I kept mine in a 90 for many years before upgrading. They require rockwork to feel secure and to swim in and out of because they get stressed out very easily, hence their nickname the ick magnet...mine also seems to like to swim into strong currents..it will actually swim into the powerheads only to blown away from it. They are an aggressive tang, the level of aggressiveness varies from fish to fish, mine is very aggressive and I have to remove it every time a new fish is added..I have no probelms doing it with mine and it starts eating as soon as it hits the water again...I've been lucky with it because it has only gotten ick once in all these years ..good luck.

I would wait until your tank has aged for a year or so before adding another one. Let everything else in your tank get comfy and healthy. It needs to be the last fish you add to the tank because of their aggression. You should probably put it in quarantine for at least two weeks, to let it calm down and start eating well before putting it in your DT.

If your tank was setup since Aug, I think you should let it mature a lot longer.

You don't want to add a Powder Blue and have it die n you again.

Remember, reefing is about patience. So give your tank some time before adding another one in.

Do you have other fish in the tank? Blues stress very easily.. I lost one to ich and one because Purple tang chased him to death.
I guess 3rd time the charm cause last one lives happy as a clown... but 13 I would give up :)

You've lost 13 in the past? Dannnngggg. My wife is mad that I lost $100 in fish recently, I'd be six feet under if I lost 13x fish that all are $50+. :faint2:

But I wish you luck with them in the future.
