I purcheed a powder plus tang. The fish did not eat in the store before purchased. Going against my gut feeling I ended up buying the fish.

The 55 gallon qt is dosed with prazipro and cupramine in day 7 of treatment. No visual signs of ich are present. The initial few specs of ich and head shakes are now gone.

The fish aggressively eats the glass and sides of tank but yet has been seen eating any of the food I provided, omega one seaweed, mysis and LRS "herbivore frenzy" all of which I soaked in garlic and selcon.

The I noticed a couple of small black specs, not many on skin. Couple of questions, what should I attempt to feed him since he's looks like he wants to eat by the way he's eating the glass and should stay the course of the quarrentine or add any other medications.

Thanks for any sugsestions.

Have you tried using a nori clip that sticks to the glass? One problem with copper (and to a lesser extent Prazipro) is appetite suppression can be a side effect. You may need to lower the Cu level until he eats, and then slowly raise it back up.

Also try some live foods to entice feeding, like live blackworms and/or gut packed brine shrimp

Yes I have to clips. One on glass bottom where he normally says and on glass where I can see him pecking. So Should I do a 10 gallon water change to start lowering levels ? Turn on skimmer, run carbon ?

Also try nori rubber banded on a rock to entice a more natural feeding of algae on a reef.

How can I post video. Head shake is back.

Or maybe never left and I haven't watch him as much

Well the cardinal rule was broke. Pbt's are notoriously difficult. Watch for any signs of distress like redness, spots, fading or splotchy coloring on the body, fin rot, cloudy eyes, etc. first priority if no symptoms is getting it to eat.

Well I don't know what's going on. I just saw him nibble off of veggie clip and mouthed some mysis and spit it out. Define improvement in appitite. I don't get it. So frustrating

What's the appx time frame a fish could live without eating ?

A month or more. Problem is you don't know when was the last time he ate (before you got him). His last meal might have been off the Maldives somewhere. :(

Now that's a trip. I noticed he eats very small particles of seaweed when it floats by him. Still active and swimming. I'll keep you posted thanks for everyone's help hopefully this will work.

Ya I forgot about that. My tangs and foxface do prefer smaller pieces of nori floating by, guess they lazy... Lol

This works

Also I second the notion to try live brine and live blackworms I've saved several acanthurus tangs (including a dozen powder blues and a couple Achilles tangs) this way over the years.
